NEW STARTERS September 2022

We would like to wish you all a very warm welcome to Woodville Schools Federation. As we look forward to getting to know the new families joining our school community, we will use this page as a hub to hold all the information you need as you prepare for September and your child starting school. Many of you may have children at either the Infant or Junior school so will be familiar with some of this information about the school but for some of you this will be the beginning of your journey at Woodville Schools Federation. We hope that whatever the case you find this page informative and useful.

Induction Meeting for Parents Presentation

Thursday 16th June 2022

It was lovely to meet so many of you at our meeting on Thursday. We hope you found the meeting informative and you enjoyed visiting the EYFS unit. 

 

If you were unable to attend the meeting, your welcome pack is now available for collection from the school office. Please find below a copy of the PowerPoint presentation from the meeting. This will explain the contents of your Welcome Pack.

 

Please complete the parent and child questionnaires in your Welcome pack and return to the school office by Monday 18th July.

Key Dates for your Diary

Thursday 16th June 2022, Meeting for Parents and Carers

This will be a chance to meet the Early Years team and other members of the school community, to hear more about a typical day in school and our starting school arrangements. This will also include the opportunity to look around the EYFS unit.

 

The meeting will be held on Thursday 16th June, 6:00pm-7:30pm. Pleaase note we cannot accommodate children in this meeting so please do ensure you organise child care should you require this. If you are unable to attend in person, please let the school office know and we can enure you receive your welcome pack.

June, Nursery Visits

Throughout the month of June, children will visit the EYFS unit with their preschool or nursery for storytime sessions. If your child is unable to attend with their pre-school, you are welcome to bring your child to a session. Please contact the school office for more information.

 

July, Induction Visits

Monday 4th July- Children visit the EYFS unit with their parent/ carer.

Session 1: 9:00am–10.00am

Session 2: 10:15am-11:15pm

Session 3: 11:30am-12:30pm

Session 4: 1.30pm-2:30pm

Session 5- 3:30pm- 4:30pm

 

Please check your email and sign up for a time slot.

 

Tuesday 5th July- Children to stay for a visit on their own, without parent supervsion.

Either: 9.30am to 11.30am      or      1pm – 3pm

These will be allocated places. Parents will receive confirmation at the parent meeting on the 16th June.

 

 

September, Transition Days

Thursday 1st September- Children to stay on their own.

Either 9:00am-11.30am      or        1:00-3:20pm

 

Friday 2nd September- Children to stay on their own.

Either: 9:00am-11.30am     or        1:00-3:20pm

 

Again, these will be allocated places. Parents will receive confirmation at the parent meeting on the 16th June.

 

Children will start school full time from Monday 5th September.
