We would like to wish you all a very warm welcome to Woodville Schools Federation. As we look forward to getting to know the new families joining our school community, we will use this page as a hub to hold all the information you need as you prepare for September and your child starting school. Many of you may have children at either the Infant or Junior school so will be familiar with some of this information about the school but for some of you this will be the beginning of your journey at Woodville Schools Federation. We hope that whatever the case you find this page informative and useful.

New Parents Meeting- Thursday 15th June 2023
Attached below is a copy of the Powerpoint from the parent meeting that took place on Thursday. This links to key information in your welcome pack. If you were unable to attend the meeting, please visit the school office and collect your welcome pack from there. This is an important source of key information for your child starting school, including class, class teacher and dates for induction visits.
Key Dates for your Diary
New Parents Meeting
Thursday 15th June 2023
There will be a parents meeting on Thursday 15th June in the Junior School Hall, from 6:00pm-7:30pm. Please note we cannot accommodate children at this meeting. This will be a chance to meet the Early Years team and other members of the school community, to hear more about a typical day in school and our starting school arrangements. This will also include the opportunity to look around the EYFS unit.
A welcome pack, containing all the information that you will need before your child starts school in September, will be provided at the meeting. The pack will tell you which class your child is going to be in, who their teacher will be and details about their induction visits and starting date.
If you are unable to attend the meeting, your welcome pack will be available for collection from the school office after the 15th June. Also a copy of the PowerPoint presentation from the meeting will be added to this page following the meeting. This will explain the contents of your Welcome Pack.
June, Nursery Visits
Throughout the month of June, children will visit the EYFS unit with their preschool or nursery for storytime sessions. If your child is unable to attend with their pre-school, you are welcome to bring your child to a session. Please contact the school office for more information.
July, Induction Visits
Tuesday 4th July- Children visit the EYFS unit with their parent/ carer.
Session 1: 9:15am–10.15am
Session 2: 10:30am-11:30pm
Session 3: 11:45am-12:45pm
Session 4: 1.30pm-2:30pm
Session 5- 3:30pm- 4:30pm
Please check your email and sign up for a time slot.
Wednesday 5th July- Children to stay for a visit on their own, without parent supervision.
Either: 9.30am to 11.30am or 1pm – 3pm
These will be allocated places. Parents will receive confirmation at the parent meeting on the 15th June.
September, Transition Days
Wednesday 6th September- Children to stay on their own.
Either 9:00am-11.30am or 1:00-3:20pm
Thursday 7th September- Children to stay on their own.
Either: 9:00am-11.30am or 1:00-3:20pm
Again, these will be allocated places. Parents will receive confirmation at the parent meeting on the 15th June.
Children will start school full time from Friday 8th September.
